ABIC's intensive veterinary R & D program is responsible for a substantial number of original developments and patents. Abic products have helped to all but obliterate many virulent animal diseases, such as Newcastle disease, Gumboro and other outbreaks in Israel and other countries.
ABIC is in the final stages of developing an anticlccidiosis vaccine (CoxAbic®), introducing a novel concept in control of the disease. The vaccine is undergoing extensive field trials both in Israel and abroad. The vaccine was successfully launched in Argentina during the last quarter of 2000.
Abic has successfully introduced in Israel its first recombinant vaccine - VP2 against Gumboro disease.
The ongoing dialogue maintained with Israel's renowned agricultural sector and complementary cooperation with academic research and agricultural institutions catalyzes these achievements. ABIC invests 5% of its annual turnover in R & D.
